True Friend of LI Fishing has Passed

Too soon.  Way too soon for such a prince of a man.

I knew Fred as many of us did.  At shows while glad handing participants and signing up new subscribers, usually with some gift and always a smile.  At presentations he did at local shops and seminars where he had time for everyone’s questions. And of course through his writing and editing in The Fisherman. He is now and forever will be “Senior Editor Emeritus”.

He helped me understand saltwater fishing and gave me hope when I was younger; again when trying to promote my books and he even posted a photo of my grandson when he caught his first Connetquot trout.  I asked his advice on some tackle and we emailed back and forth.  Such an open and accessible friend to all of us.

Humility was his strong suit while being  a quiet expert on fishing our Island.

Rest well my friend and thank you for all you have done for us.
